4.61081 reviewsFirst and foremost the rooms are very spacious. From what I can tell they usually consists of two twin size beds. One of the best things about the room is the water system. They have a great water softener system. And the water pressure is great weather the water is hot or cold. I didn't use it but they have a medium sized pool. And they have a very nice gym if that's something that interests you.
Great option if you need to stay in navojoa, the wifi is spotty and you may get lucky with a good room if not call the front desk to be moved to a diferent room, rooftop Restaurant have a very nice View on the sunset
Great hotel. Very clean. The hotel is well staffed and friendly. Free breakfast. The rooms are well equiped. I stay here every time I travel to Navojoa for work. Only complaint I have ever had is the noise. Often has lots of people partying all night long but that's more of a Mexico thing not a hotel thing. I just wish they did a little bit to curb the about of noise in the wee hours.
Planning your trip to Navojoa
When to go
November to March is the window. Days settle at 25-30°C, skies are clear most of the time, and you can walk the centre at midday without suffering. December and January nights surprise people: they can drop to 8-10°C, and not every budget room heats properly. Bring a long sleeve even though you are heading into the desert.
Things heat up in April, and from May to September Navojoa is a 40°C-plus city, with June and July the worst of it. From July to September the monsoon arrives: heavy late-afternoon downpours, sticky humidity and, in September, the chance of tropical storm remnants that flood streets and slow the highway. This is a season for staying indoors between two and six.
Two dates drive occupancy. In late January the Alfonso Ortiz Tirado festival fills Álamos and spills over into Navojoa, which becomes the festival's dormitory. And during Holy Week, the Mayo towns of the valley — Etchojoa, Huatabampo, the villages just outside the city — hold their ceremonies with fariseos and pascolas. It is the most distinctive thing that happens here all year; watch respectfully and keep the camera down.
Getting there and around
Navojoa has no commercial flights. The practical airport is Ciudad Obregón, some 65-70 km north, with connections to Mexico City, Tijuana and a few northern cities; it is about an hour by car or taxi. Los Mochis, roughly two hours south, widens your options, and Hermosillo, about four hours away, has the most frequencies if the fare difference justifies the drive.
On the ground, the city sits on Federal Highway 15, with the 15D toll road running parallel. Paying the toll saves time and keeps you clear of stretches clogged with slow farm traffic. The first-class bus lines linking Sonora with Sinaloa stop here several times a day, at terminals out on the highway corridor rather than downtown.
Within the city, the essentials downtown are walkable: Plaza 5 de Mayo, Calle Pesqueira, the market, the banks. For everything else there are cheap city buses and taxi ranks, booked by phone or picked up at the stand; ride-hailing coverage is patchy, so do not build your plans around it. A short trip costs roughly MX$70-100 and it pays to agree the fare first.
For Álamos, Huatabampito or the valley villages, a rental car — usually collected in Obregón — is the comfortable answer. One honest, standard northwest caveat: drive in daylight, stay on main roads, and avoid rural stretches after dusk. That is not alarmism, it is simply what local drivers do.
Where to stay, zone by zone
Downtown, around Plaza 5 de Mayo and Calle Pesqueira, is where daytime life happens: shops, the market, taco counters, offices. Sleeping here makes sense if you have arrived without a car to sort out paperwork or business, since everything is on foot. The trade-offs are real: heavy traffic noise in the morning and an almost total emptying of the streets after nine at night.
The Highway 15 corridor concentrates the modern, functional hotels business travellers use: parking, air conditioning that actually works, decent wifi, a basic breakfast. It is where Navojoa looks like any other northwestern town, and also where you get in and out fastest toward Obregón or Los Mochis. Ask for a room away from the road if you sleep lightly.

And Ciudad Obregón, an hour north, offers considerably more chain-hotel inventory if Navojoa comes up full or overpriced for your dates.
Eating and going out
This is Sonora, and that means beef. Carne asada over charcoal, asada tacos, big thin flour tortillas, machaca for breakfast and a good cocido are the backbone of eating well in Navojoa. The evening taco stands downtown and along the main avenues are your best signal: where there is a queue and smoke, the food is cheap and right.
The municipal market and the small downtown kitchens handle the midday set lunch for something like MX$100-150, aguas frescas included. To take away, hunt down coyotas — the Sonoran pastry filled with raw cane sugar — and whatever the local bakeries have going, because baking is taken seriously here. Fresh tortillas from a mid-morning tortillería are another habit worth copying.
The coast is close and it shows on menus: southern Sonora shrimp in broth, aguachile and tacos gobernador turn up at the seafood places, which in Navojoa fill mostly at weekend lunchtime. And if you happen to be in the valley at Holy Week, wakabaki — the ceremonial beef and vegetable stew of the Mayo people — is the most meaningful thing you can eat around here.
Nightlife is short and honest: long-standing cantinas, a handful of bars and dance halls out on the avenues, and not much beyond that. The city shuts early from Sunday to Thursday. If you want a late night, make it Friday or Saturday, and take a taxi back rather than walking empty blocks.

Navojoa's calendar is a working one. Monday to Thursday the hotels take in suppliers, technicians and agricultural staff, and that is when they sell out; weekends usually bring both availability and better rates. Book a week or two ahead for midweek dates, and further out for late January and Holy Week.
