Rooms and rates

Across our 2026 scans we logged 10 priced stays for Hotel las Palomas Nuevo Vallarta, with rates from US$81 a night. As with most hotels in Nuevo Vallarta, midweek nights tend to come in cheaper than weekends, and booking two or more weeks ahead widens the choice of rooms with free cancellation. The price you see after tapping “Check availability” is the live app.impt.io rate for your exact dates, not an estimate.

Location

Hotel las Palomas Nuevo Vallarta is at Avenida Tepic 60 Colonia El Tondoroque, Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. That puts it about 3 km from the centre of Nuevo Vallarta's hotel district, based on the coordinates in our scans. The nearest city with a bigger hotel scene is Bucerias, about 9 km away — compare Bucerias hotels too if your plans are flexible. This page's “View on map” link opens the exact spot in Google Maps, so you can measure the journeys that matter to you.

The facilities, in detail

For food and drink, the hotel lists breakfast and restaurant(s). On the wellness side there's outdoor pool and spa. Practical services include 24 hour front desk, business center, car parking, free car parking, meeting room and parking. In the room itself: free wifi and tv. The full list of 24 facilities is below; double-check the ones that are deal-breakers when you book, as hotels adjust what they offer by season.

Good to know before you book

The booking flow is three steps: dates and guests in this page's widget, the live price on app.impt.io, and instant confirmation. Most rooms are offered with free cancellation until a few days before arrival — the exact deadline is shown next to each rate before you pay. Every confirmed booking also removes a tonne of CO₂ through IMPT's carbon-removal projects, at no extra cost to you. When comparing, note that the two-star rating reflects the hotel's declared standard; the guest reviews on this page tell you how it actually feels to stay.

Nuevo Vallarta for hotel guests

Of our 22 hotels with a real price in the 2026 scans, the great majority are four- or five-star, and the bill shows it: from US$73 a night with a typical rate of about US$208. Flamingos, just north, continues the strip with slightly newer resorts. The trade-off for all that pool is logistics: there is no plaza, market or street life here — that is what Bucerías, 15 minutes away, and Puerto Vallarta, 30-40, are for. Honestly: this is a settle-into-the-resort destination; if you want walkable Mexico, sleep in Vallarta and visit this beach. All hotels in Nuevo Vallarta →

The staff are very friendly and kind. The rooms are very clean. We had a king bed, and it was good. There is no place to put your clothes out. The breakfast was good. Cute backyard with a pool and some lawn chairs. There are lots of places in the lobby to sit. The internet is not good, and even my data doesn't work very well here. It must be because of the concrete walls???... Maybe lobby is better??? Don't know... For the money you pay, it's a good deal.

This one is tricky. Very low frill room, no coffee maker no fridge. However you cannot beat their rate. We rented a car and stayed out exploring all day. The breakfast here is AMAZING with fresh fruit, coffee and a choice between American or Mexican breakfast every day. This hotel is behind a Chevrolet dealer and service center. If you plan on exploring out and about, this is your place.

Planning your trip to Nuevo Vallarta

When to go

The good window runs November to April: 28-31°C by day, low humidity, mild nights and a bay that is calm most of the time. It is also the expensive stretch, spiking hard at Christmas, New Year and Holy Week, with a second surge in March for US spring break. Early December and late April buy the same weather for noticeably less.

From mid-December to March humpback whales cross the bay — the winter's great non-pool argument, visible from the sand on a good day. May, June and July are the sensible middle: rising heat, warmer water, first rains toward the end. August to October brings the real humidity, afternoon downpours, and the year's steepest all-inclusive discounts.

Two honest warnings. Hurricane season runs June to November: a direct hit is rare, but a distant storm leaves heavy swell and red flags for days. And there is no sargassum here — that is the Caribbean — though after hard rain the water near the Ameca river mouth and the estuary turns murky and full of branches for a day or two.

Getting there and around

Puerto Vallarta's airport is 15-20 minutes away on Highway 200. Authorised taxis and vans charge in the order of MX$400-600 per vehicle, and nearly every resort sells its own transfer, sometimes for more than the taxi rank. With kids and luggage the hotel option buys peace; as a couple it rarely pays.

Ride-hailing apps work here, but airport pickups are restricted: the usual routine is to cross the pedestrian bridge and get collected on the far side. It is cheaper, and it is awkward with suitcases. On arrival, check your phone's clock — you cross into Nayarit, though the hotel strip keeps Vallarta time.

Highway buses run north to Bucerías, La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Sayulita and Punta de Mita, and south to Vallarta, for roughly MX$20-40 depending on distance. The catch is the first leg: resorts are spread along Paseo de los Cocoteros, one or two kilometres off the highway, and that stretch is walked in full sun or taken by taxi.

Local taxis work on fixed zone rates, not meters — agree the price before getting in. Budget something like MX$200-300 to Bucerías and MX$500-700 to Vallarta's Zona Romántica, more after dark. If Sayulita, San Pancho or Punta de Mita are on your list, two days of rental car beat four long taxi rides.

Where to stay, zone by zone

The market is small and pricey: 22 hotels with a real price in our 2026 scans, from US$73 a night with a typical rate of about US$208. The cheap end is almost never all-inclusive but condos and room-only hotels; the typical figure reflects the dominant formula here. Always check whether the rate quoted is per room or per person.

The southern half, toward the marina and the Ameca river mouth, is the oldest and best connected: fifteen minutes to the airport, half an hour to Vallarta, and a handful of restaurants and tour desks around the docks. It is the closest thing to life outside the resort on this strip, and it is not much.

North of there, Flamingos adds slightly newer resorts, a golf course and less traffic. Its real advantage sits at the far north end: from there you can walk the beach into Bucerías in twenty or thirty minutes, tide permitting, which changes the shut-in feeling entirely. Condo towers here often rent apartments with kitchens.

By profile: families with young kids, a big-pool resort in the central stretch where the beach is widest; couples who want to walk to dinner, sleep in Bucerías or Vallarta and come here by day; long stays, a condo with a kitchen and the Mezcales supermarkets ten minutes away; golfers, anywhere — both courses are close.

Eating and going out

Bluntly: you eat inside the hotel. Before booking, compare how many à la carte restaurants your plan includes, whether you must sign up the same morning, whether visits are capped per stay, and which drink brands are covered. Over a week that small print matters more than the room category.

Outside, the little that exists is split between Paseo de los Cocoteros and the strip malls along the highway. The real cooking is in Bucerías, fifteen minutes north: pescado zarandeado, ceviches and shrimp tacos half a block from the sand at village prices. As 2025 benchmarks: a fish taco MX$30-50, a set lunch MX$120-180, a full seafood dinner MX$300-500 per person.

Nightlife is a different matter: the strip goes quiet early and there is no street to drift along. The action is on Vallarta's malecón and in the Zona Romántica, 30-40 minutes away, with a pricier taxi home after midnight and buses that stop being an option around ten or eleven.

Booking well

With 22 hotels, supply runs out sooner than in a big destination. For Christmas, New Year, Holy Week and the busy March weeks, book two or three months ahead. From August to October you can improvise with one or two weeks' notice and watch rates fall without drama.

Verify before you pay: per person or per room, the age at which children go free, whether that ocean view is real or 'partial', whether the property is under renovation — they refurbish often here — and whether pools and beach club are shared with the neighbouring condo towers.

One warning you will thank us for: at several complexes someone will approach you in the lobby offering a breakfast, a tour or a 'membership upgrade'. That is a two- or three-hour timeshare presentation. Saying no is entirely acceptable and changes nothing about your stay.

The prices on this page are 2026 observations, per night, not quotes: confirm the live rate with the widget before booking. In hurricane season favour cancellable rates even at a small premium — the gap is usually minor against the risk of a week of closed sea or a rerouted flight.
