4.5140 reviewsI loved my stay here. No, it’s not a luxury hotel. Yes, it’s clean, affordable, and perfect if you are spending your time outside. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and they had AC (a must in Huatulco). Beyond that, the family that owns the hotel are so friendly and welcoming PLUS the restaurant has some of the best food you’ll have in Oaxaca. - Photo of food included below:)
what a GREAT place!! super clean and well maintained. simple and super cool. run by the friendliest family! Mario Sr and his whole family including Mario Jr are so awesome. if i could give more stars i would. also.. the restuarant is great, not to mention the awesome coffee, poke bowls and acai bowls right next door. I will 100 percent be back. muchas gracias!
The environment was clean and beautiful, the food was delicious, the staff and owners were superb! I have stayed at this posada three times in the the last five years. In 2021, I invited 10 Denverites to accompany me to Huatulco and we all stayed at Santa Clara. They loved it and we all plan to return in the near future.

Tangolunda is the bay of the big resorts, many all-inclusive, on their own beach. La Crucecita is the town — simple hotels, the market, taquerías — 10 minutes from the bays and home to the best prices. Santa Cruz has the pier, the marina and a friendly town beach; Chahué sits between, quiet and growing. Our 2026 scans logged 37 hotels with a real price: from US$40 a night and a typical rate of about US$93 — markedly cheaper than the Caribbean's big resorts or Los Cabos. Honestly: nightlife is short here and the loveliest beaches are earned by boat or dirt track; you come to Huatulco to slow down.
