4.5545 reviewsLovely historical building in a central location. The rooms could really do with some redecorating, as it seems like nothing has been updated in decades, but they are very large, clean and have a nice small inner courtyard if you get one of the rooms downstairs. The hotel’s courtyard is centred around a pool, and very pretty. It is quiet, and the front desk staff were helpful. Breakfast was not included in our case, and it’s a shame that they made us pay even for some hot water. The food we bought from them on one of the mornings was not great, so ultimately we were happy to go elsewhere for b…
I booked room with terrace and pool view when I arrived after I paid $105 I was given a very bad room with no terrace or pool view. When I asked at reception they said all rooms are full whereas when I checked later same evening the room which I booked (with terrace and pool view) was available for $50. When I acknowledged issue with lady at reception she was very rude she was like yeah do whatever you want we given you whatever was available etc etc; it was very very bad experience I over paid for bad room; and was unwelcome insulted
Nice boutique hotel with beautiful courtyard and good, inexpensive breakfast. Excellent shower. Comfortable beds. Quiet location three short blocks from central square. Hotel has some private parking, but we arrived to find a spot on the street almost in front of hotel. Valladolid is a comparatively safe city.
Planning your trip to Valladolid
Valladolid is the smart base for eastern Yucatán: a small grid-plan colonial city with Chichén Itzá 45 minutes away and cenotes in every direction — one of them, Zací, inside the city itself. The charming hotels cluster around the main square and along the Calzada de los Frailes, the cobbled street running down to the Sisal convent: coloured townhouses with courtyards and small pools. A few blocks off the centre, prices fall fast. Our 2026 scans logged 26 hotels with a real price: from US$17 a night and a typical rate of about US$70 — sleeping here costs a fraction of the Riviera Maya. Honestly: the heat is truly Yucatecan — March to June melts — and the trick is the early start: ruins before the coast buses arrive, cenotes at opening time.
