Querétaro splits its hotels between a centre that charms and an outskirts that works. The UNESCO-listed Centro Histórico is where you want to sleep as a visitor: pedestrian andadores, arcaded plazas, mansions turned boutique hotels, and the aqueduct in view. Juriquilla, to the north, is the modern lakes-and-campus district; the 5 de Febrero corridor lines up executive hotels for the industrial city Querétaro also is. Our 2026 scans logged 63 hotels with a real price: from US$23 a night and a typical rate of about US$74. As befits a business city, weekend rates appear that simply do not exist midweek. Honestly: the centre fills with Mexico City weekenders on Saturdays, and the vineyards and Peña de Bernal — 45-60 minutes out — justify staying more than one night.

Where should I stay in Querétaro?
In the Centro Histórico, within a few blocks of the Plaza de Armas: the walkways, plazas and restaurants are all on foot and the boutique mansions are part of the experience. Juriquilla and the 5 de Febrero corridor only make sense for work, or if you are driving and prefer modern surroundings.
When is Querétaro cheapest?
Midweek in the centre — Saturdays bring the Mexico City escape crowd — and at weekends in the executive hotels, which release Friday-to-Sunday rates. The June-to-September rainy season softens prices. Christmas festivities and the summer grape harvest in the nearby vineyards push demand up.
How do I get there from the airport or Mexico City?
Querétaro's airport is 30-40 minutes from the centre; a taxi runs about MX$450-600. From Mexico City the practical route is the bus: departures every few minutes from Terminal Norte, around 3 hours, for about MX$300-450. The bus terminal is 10-15 minutes from the Centro Histórico.
What should I know before going?
That Querétaro is a base, not just a destination: Peña de Bernal, the cheese-and-wine route's vineyards, and Tequisquiapan all sit under an hour away. Rent a car or book a tour to make it count. The city stands at 1,820 metres: strong sun by day, cool nights year-round.
