They answered all of our questions regarding available tours. We also liked that this included breakfast. The breakfast was actually decent. They took a while to come out with the egg dish but at least it came out. The room was smaller than anticipated, and the bathroom was a disaster. The water got all over the place because there was no shower door or proper drainage. We also didn't like the towel system, but we understood why they had that system.…
Holbox Dream was a great hotel - the staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and we could use the AC at any hour. The atmosphere is very relaxing and it is located on a great part of the beach. We saw dolphins each night we were there. The food was excellent. Travelling with a friend to see the bioluminescence, neither of us had been to Holbox before and weren't sure what part of the island was best to stay in. We opted for being more centrally-located and after visiting I highly recommend that as we could walk a few minutes to the nearby restaurants, bars and shopping. Getting…
This place is ludicrously overpriced. There js a literal shanty town just next door, and a junkyard just above that. That’s not the view I expect at a hotel at this price point. These neighbours blast music all night (this is not an exaggeration, I got woken up at 4:30am on two of the three nights I spent), and also own several dogs that bark non stop. People go here to hear the sea, but the noise is drowned out by this horrible cacophony next door. Our 2026 scans logged 47 hotels with a real price: from US$38 a night and a typical rate of about US$92. Honestly: getting here takes effort — two and a half hours from Cancún plus a ferry — mosquitoes and sandflies show up the moment it rains, nearly everything is paid in cash, and when the island fills, its services strain. That is the price of slow paradise.
