The town's nickname is "Jalos". Jalos has a small- town feel, much unlike San Juan de los Lagos (not too far from here). The hotel is located a short, walking distance (about 7 minutes) from the church, plaza and restaurants. The restaurant within the Hotel Gralta serves good food with great service (mostly had breakfast there) and a restaurant in town (Mi Pueblo) serves great meals and drinks. My latest visit was a letdown. The room was dirty, with hairs in the bathroom and shower, and a dry contact lens left behind. Lola's Restaurant had slow service (30+ min wait for food) and the food was overcooked. Not what I expected from Hotel Gralta.
This is an exceptional hotel with first-class service and delicious restaurants. The staff are friendly. Very classy.
