When is it cheapest?
August to September, the pit of hurricane season, with serious discounts and humid heat — book refundable rates in case a storm rearranges your dates. High season runs December to March. May-June is the local secret: dry, uncrowded, and still reasonably priced before the deep heat arrives.
How do I get from the airport?
That is San José's great advantage: Los Cabos airport is only 15-20 minutes away, against 45 for Cabo San Lucas. Shared shuttles run about US$15-20 per person and a private transfer about US$50-70 per vehicle. There is no practical public transport with luggage.
What should I know about the sea?
That the main beach, long and beautiful, has strong currents and almost never flies a green flag: it is for walking, not swimming. The swimmable coves — Palmilla, Chileno, Santa María — lie along the Corridor, 10-25 minutes by car. The San José estuary, meanwhile, offers birds and gentle dawn walks.
