The pool was clean, the room was COLD, close to shopping, walking distance to Casino Diamante and our favorite food was within walking distance El A Asador. This is the third time we have stayed at Grand Royal.

The hotel was fine - just a little under maintained but decent for a night stay by the airport. The restaurant staff were very nice and reception staff seemed a little apathetic but we're nice enough too. However be warned that the early morning receptionist might try to scam you. When we asked the early morning receptionist to call us a taxi to the airport (just a 2 minute drive), he quoted us a pricey 150 pesos which we agreed on, but then an unlicensed car (presumably his friend) pulled up who tried to charge us even more once at the airport. Terrible place to stay, will never come back, the tv didn't work, the shower was so blocked that more than a few drops of water was too much to ask, and hot water never came out, Jorge as a receptionist was of no help, rude the whole time and would fail to acknowledge the problem at all times, acting as if it was my fault the hotel was in that state, when I demanded a refund after 30 mins in the room, he told me I could leave if I didn't like it, while being non apologetic for the situation.
